From upcycling pallets to upcycle club

20 Sep 2014

I was walking through your neighbourhood, I saw neighbours carrying their grocery, some kids playing around, tourists walking looking to everywhere, they look like lost. People from very different and distant social classes. They looked at each other, but they didn't exchange a word... they were disconnected! I kept walking and I found a spot in which two men were doing some work.

What were they doing? wow, they were recycling pallets and other stuff. But... for which reason? The kids stopped playing and talked to these men... I didn't know what they talked about; however, the kids started helping them...

Some days latter, I were walking through the same streets... the spot with two men working was not a simple spot anymore, it looked like a garden, but it was not; it looked like a picnic area, but it was not; what was it? the two men were there, still working.

The kids were helping them. Some other neighbours were bringing waste stuff... what was going on? They were working together, they helped each other... the tourists from the five stars hotel near the spot were looking with surprised faces.

Some days latter... I were walking through the same streets... the spot...? where was it? was there a garden instead of the spot? was there a bar instead of the spot? was there a campfire?

NO there was the Upcycle.Club. The two men, the kids, neighbours, tourists... some were sitting on tables having a drink, some were around the campfire... they were talking... they were socialising!! Now I go there to socialise, to know people, to have fun, to enjoy the Upcycle.Club.
